PRINCIPALS AND LEADERSHIP TEAM

Terry Balfour

Terry is a co-Principal owner of Westport Manufacturing, and since 2006 has grown the company to become an international player in the commercial manufacturing industry. He is a designated accountant with an extensive background in senior financial management roles. With a strong entrepreneurial drive and proven leadership abilities, Terry’s experience base includes sales and product management, human resources development, and executive business development in the distribution, manufacturing, and service industries. A native Vancouverite, Terry is a family man and avid sports enthusiast, and is often spotted on the golf course.

Winnie Yan

Winnie is a co-Principal owner at Westport Manufacturing. Since 2006, she has spearheaded corporate growth and development at Westport and Chung Chung Hospitality Supply (a division of Westport Manufacturing). Winnie grew up in Shanghai, where she graduated from university with a major in Business. Her career accomplishments include heading the finance department of a major multinational company, along with obtaining both her CPA and CGA designations. Winnie’s business acumen has ensured stability in the ongoing growth of Westport and Chung Chun.

Chris Burger

Chris is the President of Westport Manufacturing. In that role, he has been a vocal and experienced leader of the eastern division team for all projects. With over 20 years of diverse industry experience, Chris has extensive knowledge in both the retail sector and the hospitality sector across the full spectrum of custom interiors. This widespread experience includes: Project Coordination, Workroom/Manufacturing Manager, Sales Management and Project Management. In what time remains for family and adventure, Chris is the proud father of two young boys and is always searching for that perfect powder ski run with friends in the Rocky Mountains.

Diran Dermentjian

Diran is our Senior VP of Construction at Westport Manufacturing, he leads the Construction Project Management group in overseeing all large commercial projects in Western Canada. A member of the Westport team since 2006, Diran has more than 25 years direct experience in the residential and commercial window coverings industry. He is a graduate of the UBC Sauder School of Business. A motivated problem solver, Diran works extensively with clients on large-scale window covering projects requiring motorization and integrated technology solutions. Originally from south western Ontario, Diran and his wife moved to Vancouver to enjoy life in this amazing and vibrant city.

Sophie Wang

Sophie is our VP of Finance & Operations at Westport Manufacturing. Starting in 2012 as Accounts Payable, advanced to Staff Accountant, then Controller, and now VP of Finance & Operations, Sophie obtained both her CPA and MBA from UBC while working. She has a wide range of additional roles including Arlene’s Interiors Business Leader and Westport’s Office Manager.

SALES AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM

Cole Balachanoff

Cole joined Westport in 2013 while completing his BBA in Finance. Since then he has become a key member of our Hospitality and Construction Divisions and worked on a variety of large and small scale projects across Canada and the United States. His goal is to partner with his customers on every project to achieve joint success. With new visionary buildings being built everyday he strives to problem solve and ensure the window coverings are well suited to the design. When he’s not in the office Cole enjoys staying active and teeing it up on the golf course every chance he gets.

Andy Phillips

Andy is a key member of the Account Management team at Chung Chun Hospitality, a division of Westport Manufacturing that supplies linens and supplies to the hospitality and healthcare markets. A specialist in the field of healthcare textiles, Andy studied at Eastern Kentucky University, and is a graduate of the American Laundry and Linen College. He brings 40 years of industry experience to his role as Account Manager.

Wayne Letwin

A member of the Westport team since 2005, Wayne works primarily on hospitality and healthcare projects in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and northern BC. Representing both Westport Manufacturing and Chung Chun Hospitality (a division of Westport Manufacturing), Wayne provides his clients with a full scope service package that includes project management, site measurement, fabric sourcing and value engineering, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to specification.

Todd Cutler

Spanning 30 years of Hospitality experience, Todd Cutler provides a plethora of knowledge and specializes in FF&E. His pragmatic approach provides detailed and realistic contributions in order to keep projects on track.

Attilio Carano

With more than two decades of direct experience in the contract window covering field, your project is in good hands with Attilio Carano, Project Manager. Having graduated with honors from Seneca College’s Civil Engineering program, and with a degree in Arts from York University, Attilio has the smarts and savvy to address your project needs. Attilio has in depth experience with a broad range of manufacturers, including SunProject, SunGlow, and Hunter Douglas, ensuring his clients receive intelligent technical support and knowledgeable information on product specifications. From high end residential homes to full scope commercial installations, Attilio has the expertise to ensure your project is well managed from start to finish.

Sherri MacDonald

Sherri joined the Westport team in May 2021 and enjoys working closely with her colleagues and helping where she can. With 20+ years experience in the home decor industry Sherri is an accomplished decor specialist with extensive knowledge of flooring, furniture and window coverings. She has worked on full scale decor projects in both luxury homes and commercial spaces. Sherri also has a background in design, space planning and home staging. In her spare time Sherri enjoys spending time with her family and creating interesting things like mixed media art, pyrography, and acrylic pour paintings.

Lynn Lowe

Lynn joined the Westport team in 2022 as Project Manager for the southern regions of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Lynn has over ten years of project management, sourcing and procurement experience, primarily in the furniture industry. She has managed many large scale projects and new builds over the years. With her attention to detail and design background she ensures an aesthetically pleasing result for her clients, while keeping timelines and budgets in line. Most important to Lynn is providing an exceptional customer experience.

John Bland

John has a background in commercial interior design that spans over 10 years. He has worked on hospitality and commercial projects as a senior salesperson, team leader and project manager. A skilled design solutions expert with an extensive background in FF&E, John is a reliable source for all things furniture related. His background in architectural products, systems furniture, and customized solutions lends itself to the specification of motorized window treatments and other specialized products which are routinely used on complex commercial projects.

André Sévigny

André embraces challenges and always strives to think differently to create value to clients and organizations. Bilingual (French), alongside a service-oriented mindset, with over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry and textile linen services. Andre plans on creating growth for Westport in the Ontario/Quebec Market. On his spare time, you can either find him on the Ski Hill in the Winter or on the Lake in the summer.

Carl Hall

Working with clients in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwest Ontario, Carl has an extensive background in the window coverings industry, with specialized knowledge in the areas of commercial blinds manufacture and installation. Carl holds a Bachelors of Commerce in Business Administration degree from Dalhousie University. He partners with suppliers to ensure smooth project progression, providing a strong foundation for success in his work with commercial, contract and hospitality clients throughout the Western region.

Nikko Williams

Nikko joined Westport in 2014 and has over 8 years’ experience in the window covering industry. Nikko started as an installer and then moved into project management in 2017 after finishing up his soccer scholarship. He is a key part of our western construction division and specializes in motorization and helps with all unique motorized projects that require creative solutions, from start to finish.

Danny Williams

Danny is a new member of the Westport team and is eager to serve our Atlantic Canadian customers. As the Atlantic Canadian Sales Agent for Westport, Danny will be responsible for providing hospitality and healthcare clients with linens and supplies, this in addition to the lighting and furniture he currently provides. Together with Westport’s Project Management team, Danny will assist in providing custom window treatments that are manufactured to meet your needs.

Zoe Yuen

As a new member of the Westport team, Zoe brings four years of experience in the furniture industry. Specializing in lighting, Zoe is excited about embracing challenges and learning new things. Her enthusiasm drives her quest to explore innovative lighting solutions, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering enduring relationships.
